ATCC 14458 Staphylococcus aureus ,金黄色葡萄球菌。
球菌，直径为0.8-1.0μm。细胞单个、成对和多于一个平面分裂成不规则的堆团。有些菌株具有荚膜或粘层。细胞壁有三种主要成分：肽聚糖、核糖醇磷壁质和专一性的沉淀素原A蛋白。菌落光滑、低凸、闪光、奶油状，并且有完整的边缘，菌落颜色为白色、黄色和橙色。兼性异氧菌，革兰氏染色阳性。大多数菌株能生长在6.5-46℃，最适温度30-37℃。最适pH值7.0-7.9。来源于ATCC，可产生肠毒素。
