胰岛素样生长因子I(IGF 1)属于胰岛素样生长因子家族，与胰岛素原具有结构同源性。小鼠胰岛素样生长因子-Ⅰ(IGF-I)是以N-端和C-端前体蛋白为前体的两种前体异构体.这些亚型在不同的组织中有不同程度的表达。成熟小鼠IGF-Ⅰ分别与人和大鼠IGF-Ⅰ同源性分别为94%和99%，具有跨物种活性.与成熟小鼠IGF-Ⅱ具有60%的氨基酸序列同源性.IGF-Ⅰ在发育过程中和后天诱导多种细胞类型的增殖、迁移和分化。它在肌肉再生和肿瘤的发展中起着重要的作用。IGF-I与IGF-I R、IGF-ⅡR及胰岛素受体结合.IGF-I与IGF结合蛋白的结合增加了其血浆半衰期，并调节了其与受体的相互作用.
