<- KCTC <- P. Lu et al., Key Lab. of Microbiological Engineering of Agricultural Environment, Nanjing Agricultural University; OP-1. Sludge from waste-water treatment plant of a pesticide manufactoring plant; People's Republic of China, Zhejiang. Type strain. Taxonomy/description (16880, 24516, 24720, 25962, 26001). Sequence accession no. 16S rRNA gene: HM802212. Utilizes methyl-parathion (16880). Biochemical reactions different from species description at DSMZ lab (5 out of 20 reactions in api20NE strip). (Medium 462 + 100 mg/l methyl-parathion, supplied from an acetone stock solution into the dry sterile culturing vessel. Let evaporate the acetone, fill in the mineral medium under sterile conditions, 28°C or Medium 1, 28°C. Rehydrate and grow lyophilized cells from the ampoule in 5 ml liquid medium 1. Subsequent subculturing may be carried out in liquid medium or on agar plates, in medium 1 or mineral medium + methylparathion). Incubation period about 8-10 days.
