<- G. Fuchs (Pseudomonas sp. KB 740). Creek sediment. Type strain. Taxonomy/description (6131, 8051). Plasmid unnamed, NP. One unnamed plasmid (4356). Produces 2-aminobenzoate-CoA ligase (4355), 2-aminobenzoyl-CoA monooxygenase (4354). Utilizes benzoate or 2-aminobenzoate under aerobic or denitrifying conditions, acetone, 2-fluorobenzoate and p-cresol under denitrifying conditions. (4355). (Medium 830c, aerobic, 30-37°C or Medium 586 (anaerobic, nitrate and sodium sulfate may be omitted for aerobic growth). Reactivate freeze dried cultures by incubating in 10 ml liquid medium 586 or 830 in an upright standing tube for up to 7 days, 30-37°C).
